Garda Lake

Garda Lake is the largest Italian lake, situated at the foot of the Alps, in a beautiful area of southern Europe. At only 30 Km from Verona, 100 Km from Milan and 130 Km from Venice it is well placed for road, rail and air connections. Lake Garda offers the visitor a splendid natural scenery, full of colours, surrounded by the Dolomites of Brenta in the north and the gentle slopes of the morainic hills in the south.
A rich vegetation flourishes thanks to the Mediterranean climate: lemon trees, oleanders, magnolias and bouganville. The cultivation of vineyards and olive groves produces good wines and olive oil.
Walking leisurely around the small village centres, going on a boat trip, exploring the surroundings in a wide choice of itineraries are the best ways of enjoying the lively atmosphere of the lake and the beauty of the landscape.
Moreover,
Lake Garda is ideally situated for excursions: to the historical cities of Verona, Brescia, Mantua, Trento and Venice, to the Dolomites, to a performance at the Arena in Verona during the Opera Season.
In this region almost every sport can be practised from tennis to paragliding, free-climbing, scuba-diving, clay-pigeon shooting and karting.
Sailing and windsurfing enthusiasts find here their ideal conditions and over the last years Lake Garda
has been chosen by lovers of mountain-bike and has become world famous for the quality of its golf courses.
If looking for fun and relax there is a good choice of amusement parks and gardens; for those who love shopping there are opportunities meeting all needs, from the picturesque street markets to the most elegant shops.
Lake Garda is also well known for its exciting night-life, its dolce vita: restaurants, cafes, the trendiest discos and entertainment of all kinds are to be found everywhere.

Gargnano

Gargnano has one of the most beautyfull historical centers of Lake Garda, nevertheless, roads and squares are never crowded of merrymaker and noisy mass tourism.
The atmosphere that everybody can enjoy here, reminds past times of quiet and elegant tourism and, at the same time,
is the main ingredient of a holiday at the heart of Relaxation and Nature.
At sunset a magnificent mass of colours, like vast fans in orange and scarlet, squeeze and mingle through the narrow lanes carved into the stone-clad walls to meet in the little squares and ports where the different languages of the inhabitants mix and blend, like goblets of wine that scent the different places of the earth. Gargnano Gargnano enjoys a central position within the Parco dellAlto Garda Bresciano nature reserve, and is the municipality with the largest land area: 78.3 Km². Gargnano, and its outlying villages Villa and Bogliaco are on the lakeside, whilst the villages of Villavetro, Fornico and Zuino nestle on the gentle ridge above, surrounded by olive groves. At some 500 metres above sea level, the hill is home to a further five villages: Liano, Formaga, Navazzo, Sasso and Musaga. Set apart from the other villages is Muslone, atop a steep cliff overlooking the lake, whilst Costa is surrounded by the green of nature, 18 kilometres from Gargnano.Gargnanos inland territory also includes another lake, Valvestino, a genuine fjord, lying between the mountains of the valley from which it takes its name, and the municipal territory, with its thirteen villages extends to embrace remarkably variegated lands cap es and lifestyles, from the lake to the plains to the mountains, offering visitors a vast and varied array of environmental, social, sporting and culinary experiences.

Sailing Gargnano

Lake Garda, for its peculiar climatic and geographical charateristics is a real " Wind Pipe", ideal to practise all sail sports. Lots of competitions such as Gorla and Centomiglia, take place every year in the wonderful frame of Garda Lake.

Many Sailing Clubs, along the lake organize courses for kids and adults to offer, hourly or daily, safe excursions to enjoy this old-rooted sport.
Since some years, had his start the Homerus Project, which allows blind people to navigate alone, on boats specially prepared for their requirements.

On a sail boat everybody can enjoy an incomparably beautyfull landscape: the green slopes of the mountains plunged in the silver reflection waters. The sun warms the air and enhance colours, while a fragrant breeze sweetly follows the boat: a unique experience to fully enjoy Garda Lake and its natural beauties.
