Vela: Boot 2014 :

Dear Friends,

Blind sailors stand for a relatively unknown aspect of sailing:
They demonstrate that they do not have to be accompanied whilst sailing and prove their ability even in Match Race competitions.

Now a great opportunity has been provided and they are able to present their capability and training methods to the general public during the boot 2014 in Düsseldorf.
Homerus Project will be hosted by the initiative: “From the Water to the Streets” from 18th – 26th January 2014 – during the biggest water sports exhibition in the world (Entrance North, booth EN01).

Non-profit Project Homerus

Alessandro Gaoso, founder and president of Homerus, will be present together with one of his blind sailing crews and they will illustrate the Homerus method face to face. Alessandro is a very experienced sailor and has won six Italian championships and two world championships so far. He believes in the skills and abilities of the blind and supports them entirely. Let us convince you that blind sailors are perfectly capable and do not have to be accompanied!

We would like to use the public interest to motivate blind sailors throughout the world. We are happy to welcome you at our booth during boot 2014!

The idea: Protection against rough weather for people in need and a second life for discarded water sports clothing. Bring along your old watersports’ clothing when you visit boot Düsseldorf and give them a second life ashore – Thank you!
